Lactalis-Mainland Dairy marked its first day 1 April 2026 following the completion of Lactalis’ acquisition of Fonterra’s global Consumer and associated businesses.

The business, now known as Lactalis-Mainland Dairy, brings together thousands of employees across Oceania, Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East, uniting teams, brands and expertise. It also represents a significant step forward in Lactalis’ long‑term commitment to these regions and to building strong, local dairy businesses around the world.

Alban Damour, General Manager Lactalis Africa Oceania Asia, said the day marked an important milestone.

“The acquired brands strongly complement our existing portfolio in Australia. This milestone reinforces Lactalis’ long‑term commitment to growth in Australia and to supporting the local dairy industry,” he said.

The first day was marked by a live event broadcast from Melbourne, Australia connecting employees across countries and time zones to reflect on what has been achieved and to look ahead to the future.

The first day marked not just the completion of an acquisition, but the beginning of a shared future, bringing together local teams and global experience to shape the next chapter of Lactalis-Mainland Dairy.
