David Breckenridge named CEO of Lactalis Australia

Lactalis has announced the appointment of David Breckenridge as Chief Executive Officer of Lactalis Australia, effective 1 November 2026.

The appointment brings the Lactalis Australia and Lactalis-Mainland Dairy Australia teams together, marking an important milestone in the evolution of its Australian dairy operations.  

The appointment marks significant integration of Lactalis Australia and Lactalis-Mainland Dairy, and reflects Lactalis’ long-term commitment to growth in Australia.  

David will lead the combined business through its next phase of growth, building on the progress already achieved across both organisations and the strengths of its people, brands and customer relationships. 

Building a stronger dairy business

David Breckenridge said the appointment represents an opportunity to build on the strengths, capabilities and experience that exist across both businesses.

Leadership transition 

The appointment follows significant progress integrating Lactalis Australia and Lactalis-Mainland Dairy Australia since the acquisition of the Fonterra's consumer and associated businesses earlier this year. 

Mal Carseldine, currently CEO Lactalis Australia, remain with the business until the end of the year to support the leadership transition.
